TM Net is
Malaysia's premier ISP and TM Net was formed to spearhead all Internet related
services in Telekom Malaysia Berhad . In essence, TMnet refers to the computer
network developed by
Telekom
Malaysia Berhad to facilitate the provision of access to the Internet for the
entire nation. As of June 2000, asp's existing International Gateways comprises
of 1 X 155 Mbps (Teleglobe), 1 x 45 Mbps (MCI), 1 x 45 Mbps (MCI Satellite), 1 x
45 Mbps (AT&T) , 1 x 45 Mbps (ABONE), 2 x 2 Mbps (MCI, 2nd link) and 1 x 512
kbps (MCI) to the USA. Also, a 1984 kbps (KDD), 1024 kbps (IDC) and 1024 kbps
(Japan Telecom) links Japan. There is more connectivity -
a
1984 kbps (Telstra, Australia), 2 x 1984 kbps (SingTel, Singapore), 512 kbps
(IndoSat, Indonesia), 1984 kbps (Kornet, Korea), 1984 kbps (Dacom, Korea), 1984
kbps (CHTI, Taiwan), 512 kbps (CAT, Thailand), 1984 kbps (CWHKT, Hong Kong),
1984 kbps (Etisalat, UAE) and 100 Mbps to Jaring, Malaysia. This will be further
upgrade to multi-megabits capacity with other major destinations in Asia, Europe
and the U.S. in order to provide diversity and additional bandwidth, which will
inevitably increase the speed of net accessibility.
